China announces National Holiday For V-Day celebration

The State Council announced on 13 May that there will be a national holiday on 3 September 2015 for this year’s celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the victory in World War II.

This move aims to allow people around the country to participate in activities to commemorate China’s victory in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War. The holiday is from Thursday 3 September (public holiday) to Saturday 5 September (4 and 5 September are the weekend). Sunday 6 September 2015 is working day.
