Forvis Mazars in South Africa brings home big awards at the CARL conference!
This was a great opportunity for attendees to discuss new strategies, and build relationships between Partners so as to work together in a truly integrated organisation.
The theme for this year’s conference was ”Growing with purpose” and included various Impact Award categories for CSR, Innovation and Sustainability projects as well as awards for new business wins, . The conference provided a wonderful and unique opportunity for attendees to present their country initiatives by submitting projects for nomination. If chosen, a 1 minute video was uploaded to a special platform allowing all Partners to vote for their favorite video in that category.
Excitement mounted as various projects were voted for. The SA team were particularly apprehensive as their nomination in the Innovation category did not seem to appear on the voting platform.
Little did they know that Forvis Mazars in South Africa would be presented with the Diamond Impact Award which embodied all of the above criteria (CSR, Innovation and Sustainability) for the Data School project! This award was voted for directly by the Global Executive Board, for our work with the Data Analytics school.
The team, represented by Bilal Vallee (National Partner - IT Audit), Anoop Ninan (CO-CEO) and Michelle Olckers (CO-CEO), were extremely honored and proud and accepted the award on stage in front of the entire Partner co-hort.
Globally, Forvis Mazars is committed to driving positive change and creating opportunities for all in community projects such as the Forvis Mazars Data Analytics school programme. Launched in 2020 as a skills development initiative and championed by Anoop Ninan (CO-CEO), the programme takes young unemployed graduates enrolled in the YES programme, and trains them in the field of data science to become data analysts and data scientists.
This future focused initiative empowers and improves the lives of South African youth, and helps build communities.
“The best part of the event was seeing the visibility and acknowledgement of the impact that African countries are making on a global stage,” said Bilal. “Our country leaders are truly inspirational and innovative and seeing all the accomplishments filled me with an overwhelming sense of pride and honor to be an African Mazarian.”
In addition to the special Innovation award, Forvis Mazars also won a Business Wins award for our engagement across the African region with JC Decaux.
Our success with JC Decaux was in no small part due to our integrated teams and collaboration between Francisco Sanchez, JC Decaux KAM at group level, and our very active French Desk in South Africa.
The South African French Desk remains a tour de force in actively securing quality leads and large-scale wins across Africa. The desk facilitates the coordination of audits across Africa from a single location, with a single point of contact for both the Group KAM and the client.
We are extremely proud of this award and excited to work with JC Decaux across a number of other services if the need arises.
