Data analytics programme
The MICT SETA accredited training Programme is conducted over a 12-month period. It is blended training where 30% is classroom based / virtual training and 70% is on the job training with mentoring and self-study.
Course content
- Business Analysis support learnership
- Soft skills training (Business Etiquette, Emotional Intelligence, Build Your Brand)
- Accounting and Audit Fundamentals
- Customized Data Analytical training (Excel, SQL, Power Pivots, Python)
- Microsoft training (Microsoft Analytics, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Azure development)
On-the-job training
- Structured learning with case studies
- Mentor allocated to the learner
- Logbook completed
The learners graduate as Data Analysts or scientist at the end of the Programme with a National Certificate in Business Analysis Support which is an NQF level 5 qualification.
The role of Data Analysts and Scientists in the workplace
- Provide business intelligence and market insights through the development of predictive and descriptive data models.
- Drive innovation and increase operational efficiency through the development and implementation of data analytic tools.
- Accelerate and improve business decisions through innovative data reporting and visualization models.
Mazars has trained and placed 50 learners since the Programme commenced in 2020.
Roles and responsibilities of Mazars and the company
Forvis Mazars will deliver a National Certificate in Business Analysis Support and Certificate in Data Analytics to the learners.
Forvis Mazars will be responsible for the end-to-end design and solution implementation, commencing with assisting in selection of the learners, facilitation, assessment, moderation, and certification of learners on successful completion of the Programme.
The employer will host the learner, pay the stipend, provide on the job training and support, coaching and mentoring and ensure that the learner is given the required time for in person or virtual training and completion of the portfolio.
A graduation ceremony will be hosted by Frovis Mazars and the company on completion of the Programme.

B-BBEE recognition for full spend in the following categories:
- Skills Development expenditure on black people as a percentage of leviable amount
- Skills Development expenditure on black disabled people as a percentage of leviable amount if applicable
- Number of black people participating in learnerships, apprenticeships and internships as a percentage of total employees (where learners are placed)
- The potential to score bonus points for absorption of black learners on completion of the learnership. These points will only be awarded in the next financial year, on completion of the learnership
Tax allowance:
- SARS tax rebate of R50,000.00 per disabled learner or R40,000.00 per non-disabled learner on registration of the learnership
- SARS tax rebate of R50,000.00 per disabled learner or R40,000.00 per non-disabled learner on successful completion of the learnership
Social impact:
