Launch event for Mazars in Uganda
Invitations were shared with over 200 guests, including a special invitation for members of the “Club d’Affaires de Kampala” (CAK), which is a French language networking group of business people, who support investment and growth in Uganda, the Chairman M. David Gerard was present as well as many other members.
The event attendance was very high, with a selection of attendees from the diplomatic and business communities, including industry leaders and executives from top corporations and the institutional sector. Many French, Belgian and Dutch expatriates were also present.

16.30: Arrival, Registration & Networking.
18:00 – 18:30 Speeches:
- Robert Busuulwa, Partner of Mazars in Uganda, welcomed the guests and described the Ugandan office establishment and the services it provides. He warmly thanked the current and future clients and diplomats for their support and attendance at the launch event.
- Derek Nkajja, CEO of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda, CPAU, who is the accountant regulator in Uganda, spoke about the accountancy profession and the importance of honesty and the financial regulations standards.
- Kariem Hoosain from Mazars in South Africa, gave a detailed presentation about the Mazars Group, emphasizing its strong growth, the variety of services offered by Mazars and its expanding international presence.
- H.E. Stephanie Rivoal, Ambassador of France to Uganda, gave an inspiring and supportive speech about Mazars.
18:50 – 20:00 Networking Cocktails and live musical band
All invitees were keen to learn about Mazars, asking many questions during the networking discussions: what types of services are offered at Mazars, what makes stand out from the crowd and what are the ethical values.
From the group, Mazars attendance included partners from South Africa, Kariem Hoosain, Partner and from Kenya, Owen Koimburi, Managing Partner, Tanzania, Mr Ipyana Lazaro, Partner and from Rwanda, Joshua Odhuno, Partner.
Embassy attendance:
A dynamic speech was given by H.E. Stephanie Rivoal, Ambassador of France to Uganda. She mentioned the social, environmental and well-being aspect of the work that Mazars undertakes and she highlight some of the published reports. She was very positive about the values of Mazars and gave an inspiring speech. Furthermore, she shared her thoughts and encouragement about increasing gender diversity to all the business people present.
There were two other Ambassadors who attended the event, The Netherlands and Belgium. They both enjoyed the networking aspect of the Mazars in Uganda launch event and expressed their committed to increasing business and social improvements in Kampala.
Interviews were done by local journalists. Television interviews with Robert Busuulwa were filmed, he was questioned mainly about the reasons why the partnership has integrated with Mazars, what types of services Mazars in Uganda offer and how this firm can contribute to the growth of local business.

For this newly integrated office in Uganda, Kampala, the preparations of the launch event were done in collaborating with the local Mazars team, with support from the event co-ordinator Keren Okuvuru Asiimwe (The Brand Factory Ug Ltd) and the Mazars Group Communications team. The whole team of Mazars staff from the Kampala office actively participated in the cocktail launch event and their enthusiasm during the evening contributed to making it a success.
