Google tax adopted in Ukraine
Today the Law of Ukraine № 1525-IX (hereinafter - the Law) enters into force, it introduces 20% VAT on digital services provided by foreign Internet companies in Ukraine.
20% VAT on commercial digital services in Ukraine may apply to service provide by such multinational corporations as Google, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, Netflix, YouTube, Viber, Instagram, TikTok, Booking, Adobe, Disney, Bloomberg, Wargaming Group, and many others.
The main purpose of the Law is to create a mechanism for VAT imposition on digital services provided by non-residents to end users in Ukraine.
In this report, we briefly analyse the key changes introduced by the Law.
