Mazars Merges with Kwee & Co. Holding Pte. Ltd., Welcomes New Director of Tax

Gene Kwee is a tax advisory specialist with well over 18 years of experience, 10 of those years in Singapore. With a Master’s Degree in Tax Law from the prestigious University of Amsterdam, he is well equipped to handle the rigors of today’s businesses and the strict demands that come with delivering excellent service to clients.

“I am happy to join Mazars as Head of Tax. I am very excited to contribute my vast expertise in tax advisory to growing the business and serving clients,” said Kwee, who spent his younger years in Amsterdam before relocating to Singapore in 2004. “I am thrilled to be part of such a wonderful professional organization such as Mazars.”

Kwee has a proven, successful track record and enjoys the business development aspect of his role, using his large network of various embassies and relevant trade organisations in the region to further the business. He is a frequent contributor to a myriad of magazines, producing tax-related content as well as being a well-sought after public speaker at various seminars and presentations. As such, Denis Usher, Managing Partner of Mazars LLP expressed his anticipation of Kwee’s impact on the company.

Prior to establishing Kwee & Co., Kwee co-founded a Tax Advisory legal business which he grew to a team of 18 in just 4 years. Kwee’s main areas of focus include cross-border tax planning, setting up private equity and venture capital structures, finance transactions, transfer pricing and tax advisory services.

As such, Kwee is able to continue supporting his existing clients and those of Mazars as part of an enlarged and diversified practice.
