Mazars is appointed by SAC as a Project Consultant for the SME Business & Financial Management Programme (SME BFM)
The SME BFM is a 5-month programme which aims to upgrade and upskill the finance function of SMEs. The programme advocates the idea of 3 main elements which involves the process of LEARN, VALIDATE and APPLY. “LEARN” involves the practical and skill-based training which then “VALIDATE” process would focus on the knowledge transfer such as the industry best practices, professional expertise and life experiences through mentoring by experienced CFOs. The notion of APPLY would encourage application of the knowledge on project work to achieve tangible outcomes. To reach its endpoint, the programme aims to spur the finance function of the SME towards its optimal performance which helps business remain resilient and sustainable.
For its first run (April to August 2016), Mazars Consulting team, led by Tah Wee Han, will be working with several SMEs to perform deep dive review of the SME’s financial health and performance and identify gaps and areas of improvement.
