July – Sustainable Construction
P. Andersen & Søn Entreprise A/S has been active since 1946. Today they are one of Denmark's leading specialists within the area of facade plaster and facade insulation.
The company was a little ahead of its time when, in the 1990s, it began to seriously focus on sustainability in relation to its products - a decade before sustainability was on the agenda and gradually broke across the board.
“It would be wrong to say that sustainability is the cornerstone of our business. But we are very conscious that we are pushing society in a more sustainable direction. Over time, sustainability has merged with our DNA” says Peter Andersen, CEO of P. Andersen & Søn Entreprise A/S and grandson of the company's founders.
When a building is facade insulated, it is almost like pulling a thick winter jacket over the building. In line with today’s standards, a poorly insulated building can be insulated to become more energy-saving.
“Sometimes it is simply a matter of building conservation or demolition. Can it be worth preserving a building with energy label F in 2020? Yes, you can actually insulate it. If you insulate it properly and put 200 mm. insulation on the outside of the building, this can have a rather dramatic effect,” says Jeppe Danning, COO at the company.
The fact that P. Andersen & Søn Entreprise A/S is serious about the environment and sustainability was emphasized when they became ISO 14001 certified in spring 2020. The International Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001 is the leading environmental management standard in the world.
