Forvis Mazars APAC Appoints Rudi Lang as APAC Financial Services Leader to Drive Financial Services Growth
SINGAPORE, 24 February 2025 – Forvis Mazars Asia Pacific (APAC) announced that Rudi Lang, a partner with Forvis Mazars for over 27 years, has taken on a new role as APAC Financial Services Industry Leader based in Singapore as of January 2025. Most recently, Rudi served as the Global Head of Financial Services at Forvis Mazars, based in London, and was a member of the Group Executive Board overseeing Sustainability Services.
With this new appointment, Rudi is set to drive the growth of Forvis Mazars in APAC region. He has worked with some of the firm’s largest clients, European regulators, and public authorities and brings vast expertise in cross-border audits, regulatory projects, and risk management assignments. Leveraging his expertise in the sector, Rudi will focus on strengthening client relationships, fostering regional collaboration among partners, and delivering innovative client solutions. His appointment will also contribute to Forvis Mazars’ commitment to sustainability and innovation, helping banks and financial institutions address climate risks, ESG opportunities, and compliance challenges.

Extensive and International Experience in Financial Services
Rudi Lang brings 27 years of experience at Forvis Mazars, including roles in Germany and the UK, before taking his new position based in Singapore. His experience spans leading complex, cross-border audits, large-scale European restructuring, special risk management assignments for international banking clients, and acting as a monitoring trustee in high-profile state aid and merger control cases. Rudi has been involved in Prudential Capital Assessment Reviews and Asset Quality Reviews for European banks and advised UK and European regulators.

Rudi is a German Certified Chartered Accountant and a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). He holds a Master's Degree in Economics and Finance Theory from the University of Cologne. Fluent in English, German and French, Rudi regularly speaks at internal and external seminars and conferences on regulatory and industry matters worldwide. He is also a Senior Fellow at ESCP Business School.
Strengthening of Forvis Mazars’ Financial Services Competencies in APAC
In recent years, Forvis Mazars has made several strategic leadership appointments to expand its financial services capabilities in Singapore and the APAC region. These appointments include Mark Chew, Athreya H.D., and Tan Yan Song.
Mark Chew, a chartered accountant with over 11 years of experience specialises in the financial services sector especially banking audits. He has also worked with commodities trading houses, securities firms, investment management companies and unit trusts and has played a key role in Singapore’s digital banking license attestation process. Athreya H.D. leads the Financial Services Consulting practice in Singapore, with over 17 years of expertise in banking and financial services, having led global and regional initiatives across prudential risk, financial crime compliance, regulatory reporting and ESG. Tan Yan Song specialises in audit and assurance for the insurance industry, has over two decades of experience where he held prominent leadership roles in internal audits, one of which was for a major Japanese insurance group, providing top-tier assurance services to a diverse array of entities within the insurance industry. Bringing to the table his wealth of knowledge, he enriches the firm’s capabilities in insurance and asset management. Beyond traditional financial audits, he has developed tailored solutions for regulatory compliance and internal audits for insurance clients.
