The Appointment of Chin Chee Choon (Dec 2021)
Mazars in Singapore has appointed a new Audit and Assurance Partner, Chin Chee Choon effective 15 November 2021.
Chee Choon brings with him over 20 years of professional experience. He started his career with a Big 4 firm in Malaysia and Singapore. He served at two US MNCs in the IT and Oil and Gas industry prior to joining another Big 4 firm as a Senior Manager in Risk Advisory Services. Chee Choon then spent the next 15 years in a mid-tier firm where he was the Head of Advisory and an Audit Partner.
Chee Choon’s external audit experience comprises audits of companies operating in a range of industries, such as oil and gas (exploration and production), property development and construction, shipping and marine, manufacturing and chemical industry. He also had significant experience in auditing companies listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange (“SGX”) and was involved in a number of IPO projects, with the latest one being a mainboard-listed education services company.
Chee Choon was also involved in internal audit reviews of companies listed on SGX from various industries including food and beverages, manufacturing, telecommunication, trading, oil and gas and non‐profit organisation. Other advisory work includes special reviews such as fraud investigation, pre‐IPO internal control review and review of internal control manuals.
Chee Choon holds a Bachelor of Accounting from the University of South Australia and a Post Graduate Diploma from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom. He is a Fellow Chartered Accountant of Singapore and a Certified Internal Auditor.
With his vast experience and in-depth knowledge in both assurance and advisory services in particular risk advisory, Chee Choon will play a key role in growing both Channel 1 and 2 services lines at Mazars in Singapore.
