Kok Joo Tan Deputy CFO

Kok Joo (KJ) is a seasoned finance professional with nearly 20 years of experience across auditing, accounting, and finance. 

KJ began his career in auditing at a local firm and a Big Four accounting firm, where he gained over four years of experience auditing public listed companies and SMEs across diverse sectors including construction, property development, hotels, F&B, and trading. 

Prior to joining Forvis Mazars, KJ accumulated over 11 years of valuable experience in accounting. He specialised in group consolidation, spearheaded the development and implementation of financial policies, and oversaw the entire financial operations of companies across the APAC, including Singapore, Thailand, China, and the US. In his previous roles, he served as a strategic partner to senior management and co-founders, contributing significantly to improving business performance. 

KJ also brings to the table approximately three years of consulting experience in the marketing domain, where he advised clients on key areas such as Agency compensation models including KPI and Performance-based Remuneration and Fee analysis and assessment across diverse regions including APAC, LATAM, and EMEA. He served a distinguished clientele, including global marketing leaders such as Johnson & Johnson, Samsung, AB InBev, Visa, MasterCard, Fonterra, Nestle, and BMW. 

KJ joined Forvis Mazars in 2022 as Financial Controller. In this role, he has been instrumental in collaborating closely with service line leaders and Executive Committee of the firm on critical areas such as planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and KPIs, all with the overarching goal of driving business growth. Effective 1 September 2024, KJ was appointed Deputy CFO of Forvis Mazars Singapore. 

KJ holds a Bachelor of Business (Accounting & Finance) from the University of Technology Sydney and is a member of Certified Practising Accountant Australia (CPA Australia).
