Rick Chan speaks at the Accountancy Week Celebration 2022

Organised by the Philippine Institute of Certified Accountants (PICPA), the annual tradition has seen accountants in the country celebrating weeklong festivities since 1966. Each day is centered around a different focus and today, the celebration provides a Spotlight on Public Practice.

In this year's highly anticipated event, Rick delivered a talk on the Future of Audit, where he explored the market myths, realities and future direction for the audit profession.

Rick discussed the results of a Mazars survey The Future of Audit: market view that was released in 2021, which explored the shifting market expectations of audit decision makers around the world, inviting stakeholders to consider necessary changes for its evolution.

The session also featured other speakers namely Atty. Emmanuel Y. Artiza from the Office of the General Accountant, Securities and Exchange Commission, and Josie Teaño, Managing Director and SVP Philippines and Thailand, Publicis Group. More than 450 in-person and online attendees comprising accountants, auditors, and other finance professionals joined the session today.
